ONIC Esports Introduces New Identity and Fresh Roster for the 2026 Season

ONIC Esports has officially opened a new chapter ahead of the 2026 competitive season through a press conference held to outline the organization’s future direction and strategy. During the event, ONIC announced a series of major updates, including the launch of a brand-new jersey, the arrival of two new players, changes within the coaching staff, and the decision of one of their star players, Skylar, to temporarily step away from competitive play.

Management emphasized that all of these steps are part of a major transformation designed to keep ONIC relevant and highly competitive amid the increasingly fierce esports landscape, particularly in the Mobile Legends scene.

Racing-Themed Visual Identity and Roster Reshuffle

One of the main highlights was the unveiling of ONIC’s latest jersey, created in collaboration with sportswear brand MILLS. The jersey carries the concept From Pole to Pavement, inspired by the world of motorsports. This philosophy represents speed, precision, and strong teamwork values that have long defined ONIC’s competitive character.

Justin Widjaja, CEO of ONIC, explained the meaning behind the concept.

“The world of racing is synonymous with speed, accuracy, and teamwork behind the scenes. These values align with ONIC’s competitive mentality in facing every challenge and continuing to grow as an organization,” said Justin Widjaja, as quoted from Esport ID.

Through this new jersey, ONIC aims not only to refresh its appearance, but also to reinforce the organization’s direction toward a higher level of performance.

Beyond visual branding, ONIC also made significant moves within its roster. Two new names were officially introduced: Ssamuel and Kelra.

Ssamuel was promoted from ONIC Prime (MDL) to the main ONIC MPL Indonesia team, reflecting the organization’s commitment to developing internal talent. Meanwhile, Kelra, who previously played for ONIC PH, has now officially joined ONIC ID.

Kelra’s arrival is expected to bring valuable international experience. YEB, VP of Esports at ONIC, described this as a strategic decision.

“Kelra brings international experience and a strong competitive mentality. We believe his presence will have a positive impact, both in terms of gameplay and team dynamics,” said YEB, as quoted from Esport ID.

With these additions, ONIC is optimistic about strengthening its competitiveness at both regional and global levels.

Coaching Changes and Skylar’s Break

ONIC also announced that Coach Adi’s contract has ended following the M7 tournament. The decision was made mutually and is part of a comprehensive evaluation of the team’s structure.

“Coach Adi has made a major contribution to ONIC. We fully support his decision to take a break, and ONIC will always appreciate the important role he has played within the team,” added YEB.

Looking ahead, Coach Adi is expected to seek new opportunities outside ONIC, while the management prepares the next steps for the coaching department.

Another surprising update came from Skylar. The iconic ONIC player has decided to take a break from competitive play. This personal decision has received full support from the organization.

“Skylar is part of ONIC’s history. His contributions, dedication, and achievements will always be appreciated. We support his decision to take a break and believe that every step he takes will lead him to the best phase of his career,” said YEB.

During his time with ONIC, Skylar recorded major achievements, including two MPL Indonesia Season 16 titles and the Games of the Future trophy.

Toward the 2026 Season

This series of announcements confirms that ONIC is entering a major transition phase. With a new jersey, a refreshed roster, changes in the coaching staff, and full support for players who choose to take a break, ONIC is ensuring its readiness for the 2026 competitive season.

Management closed the event with optimism, believing these strategic steps will help ONIC perform with greater consistency and maturity across upcoming esports tournaments.
